Use center finder (see pdf below) to mark center of tail board, then visually center align with one of the slots as shown. |
| Put Tail Jig on top of pin board and a business card. Adjust dovetail bit height to just touch the backer board. This will cut a joint with end grain slightly proud (the business card thickness) of the boards. | ![]() |

Rout pin slots with the dovetail bit thus producing the tail board. |
| Place pin board on table and align tail board and draw two lines showing the location of one pin. | ![]() |

Align pin board marks with Pin Jig and clamp in place. |
| Place Pin Jig on top of the tail board and a business card. Adjust the pattern bit height to just touch the backer board. This will cut a joint with end grain slightly proud of the boards. | ![]() |

Rout the tail slots with the pattern bit producing the pin board. |
| Glue joint together and sand the
end grain smooth.
